Rising Students win Azad Challenge Cup Tournament

Rising Students Club (Cuttack) beat Mukteswar Cricket Club (Bhubaneswar) in the final by 38 runs to emerge champions in the 4th Inter-State Azad Challenge Cup Cricket Tournament, which concluded here at Chadheibhol cricket ground onMonday.
Chasing 211 for victory, Mukteswar were dismissed for 172. The match witnessed two dashing half-centuries and two six-wicket hauls. Kameswar Barik of Rising Students slammed a 55-ball 77, which included seven fours and five sixes, while his teammate Ashutosh Das bagged six for 49. For Mukteswar, Narendra Das hit 56 (28b, 4x4, 6x6) and Kamalakanta Jena scalped six for 35. Ashutosh Das was adjudged the man of the match, while Kamalakanta Jena was declared the man of the tournament for bagging a total of 11 wickets.
Odisha Cricket Association president and National Cricket Academy chairman Ranjib Biswal handed over the trophy at the closing function. Keonjhar District Athletic Association secretary Dr Janardan Dash and Mayurbhanj District Athletic Association secretary Hemant Kumar Das were present on the occasion.
Brief score: Rising Students: 210/8 in 30 overs (Kameswar Barik 77, Abinash Nayak 35; Kamalakanta Jena 6/35) beat Mukteswar CC 172/10 in 23.3 overs (Narendra Das 56, Pallabendu Mishra 27; Ashutosh Das 6/49, Manas Muduli, Prakash Bhoi 2 wkts each).
